LIN in collaboration with Kinzo receives 3rd prize in the competition Siemensstadt 2.0 Modul 1 in Berlin.

Project Gare d'Auteuil in Paris is nominated for Mies van der Rohe Award 2022.

The project for 378 housing units at the Auteuil station was carried out by the studios Architectures Anne Démians, Francis Soler Architecte, LIN Architects Urbanists and Rudy Ricciotti, and the landscape designer Louis Benech.

LIN receives 2nd prize in the “Horner Geest” competition in Hamburg, DE.

In collaboration with BV Hüsler, Katja Gretzinger, Teuber+Viel, Bollinger+Grohmann, Licht Kunst Licht AG, Transsolar, Höhler+Partner, and Moll Akustik, the competition centered around the design of three underground stations in the extension of the U4 line.

New exhibition opening “Le Laboratoire du logement - Éloge de la méthode” about project “Gare d'Auteuil” in the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine, Modern and Contemporary Architecture Gallery in Paris.

Vernissage will take place on the 18th of April at 6 p.m., in the presence of architects Anne Démians, Francis Soler, Rudy Ricciotti, Finn Geipel, and landscape architect Louis Benech, as well as French Minister of Culture Franck Riester and the President of Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine Marie-Christine Labourdette.

 

The exhibition is open until the 15th of September.

Finn Geipel will be presenting as part of the series “here + there” at the Faculty of Architecture at the Hochschule München on the 25th of October at 7 pm.

The presentation will look at Geipel’s previous works spanning both sides of the Rhine, covering his projects ranging in program and scale across both France and Germany.

Paris Quai Henri IV

This upcoming friday opens the exhibition “DAM Award for Architecture in Germany 2017”, Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt a.M., where the project "Paris Quai Henri IV“ will be on display!

The final master plan “Sevran Terre d’Avenir” has been presented at the “La Maison de l'architecture en Île-de-France” in Paris last week.

The ambition of the project is to accomplish a new centrality for “Grand Paris” in Sevran, the area in the immediate vicinity of the big economic poles of Roissy-Le Blanc Mesnil Bourget and Marne-la-Vallée.

LIN wins a competition for redensification of a residential neighbourhood in Munich (with Holzwarth Landscape).

In the competition “Appenzeller Straße” prizes were awarded in two categories: urban planning, where LIN is one of the four equal winners, and architecture, where LIN placed as one of the three equal winners.

Raummaschine - now on show at Martin-Gropius-Bau

Finn Geipel as part of the team „Mobile Structures“ at the Excellence Cluster „Image Knowledge Gestaltung. An Interdisciplinary Laboratory“ has developed the project Raummaschine for the exhibition +ultra. gestaltung schafft wissen. The Raummaschine is a tool, an experimental set-up that enables the investigation and visualisation of space and movement. The interaction of body and space can be felt on various levels. Museum visitors are able to experience specific spatial situations and create their own scenarios at varying intervals.

On Friday the 30th of October there was a filming action in the office. We were visited by a film crew which documents working processes on the Bremer Punkt project.

Prefabrication of wooden wall modules of Bremer Punkt project

The pre-fabricated timber structure can be mounted independently of seasons and weather conditions in a very short time and reduces the construction time on site.

On Thursday 23rd of July, senator Joachim Lohse (from the left), together with Hans-Hermann Schrader and Gewoba´s chairman Peter Stubbe inaugurated the construction site of the first Bremer Punkthaus series.

The trinational masterplan 3Land of LIN and its project partners will be on display at the Atrium of the Bau- und Verkehrsdepartment in Basel.
The master plan presents a vision for the common urban development of the cities Weil am Rhein (Germany), Huningue (France)  and Basel-Stadt (Switzerland); with a focus on  mobility, landscape, economy and ecology. It is the first master plan for a common urban development, commissioned by one of the 33 cross-border agglomerations within Europe.

[Istanbul Smart City Information Hubs] Istanbul Design Biennial December 10 - 11

At this year's 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial Istanbul Bilgi University, the Institute for Information Design Japan, and LIN architects Berlin/Paris are organizing a one-day workshop in collaboration with TAK - Design Atelier Kadiköy on Information Hubs for Smart City Istanbul. A follow-up panel, co-organized with the World Intelligent Cities Summit 2014, will review the workshop's findings and have acclaimed authorities on Smart City developments present use-cases from around the world.

St. Ludwig Elementary School, Berlin (Phase 1)

The first phase of design and construction of St. Ludwig school in Wilmersdorf, Berlin has just been completed. Located in the backyard of a typologically common housing block built in 1903.

The programme involves refurbishment and adaptive reuse of four floors and corridors covering an area of 500m2.

Lecture at Cycle d’urbanisme de Sciences-Po, Paris

LIN Presented the PNE (Paris Nord est) project at the political sciences school of Paris (Cycle d'urbanisme de Sciences-Po Paris). LIN´s strategy for the re-invigoration of the former PSA site in Aulnay-sous-Bois is developed around the theme of flexibility from a monooriented site to a 365 degree multifunctional approach. The Team is continuing working on this project until 2015.

Housing project in Paris “Quai Henri IV” under construction

The LIN construction site of “Quai Henri IV”, a total area of 4.060 m², is a housing complex with 12.200 m² net floor. It consists of a social housing complex (8 storeys), high standard housing (7 storeys), and a private nursery. It has an existing central courtyard; a green space classified. The prototype of the façade has recently been completed and the construction of the complex is underway.

 

 

LIN has been selected to develop the masterplan for the tri-national territory of 3Land

Upon selection by the Trinationale Eurodistrict (TEB), LIN will lead a team consisting of Atelier Girot, IBV Hüsler AG, Une Fabrique de la Ville, Nuesch Development, Agence Franck Boutté, Michael Kleyer, Stephan Pflugmacher Lima and Joseph Hanimann in developing the master plan for the tri-national territory of 3Land – Basel (CH), Weil am Rhein (DE) and Huningue (FR).

"Foundation stone" Quai Henri IV

Three years after winning the competiton and followed by a rigorous design process and detailing, the Foundation stone ceremony for LIN´s building Quai Henri IV being developed by Altarea Cogedim investor, was held on the 9th of April in Paris.

This signifies the start of construction a very ambitious project, located in the heart of Paris located across the 4th arrondissement. This project comprises acquisition and social housing units and a kindergarten designed with careful consideration of its urban surroundings.

Bremer Punkt

The “Bremer Punkt”, a social housing project for the city of Bremen is being re-visited.

 

A single prototype is being developed to offer a low cost and prefabricated structure that can be deployed on a number of sites.  This project’s cube-like form has a wood exterior and interior, which is anticipated to be an ecological and economical solution for the city of Bremen. With a footprint of 140 m2, this building is compact and unprecedented.

Organized jointly by the Strasbourg Museums group and the Frankfurt Deutsches Architekturmuseum, the exhibition entitled “Interférences/Interferenzen Architecture Germany - France 1800-2000” will be curated by Jean-Louis Cohen and Hartmut Frank, architecture historians and professors at New York University and the Hamburg Hafen-City Universität respectively.

 

CITE DU DESIGN designed by LIN will be showcased as an example of a deeply cooperation between Germany and France.

RE-CYCLE MAXXI

After Rome, the Department of Hérault presents the exhibition RE-CYCLE MAXXI, strategies for architecture, city and planet, at pierresvives – Montpellier, curated by Pippo CIORRA.

Recycling architecture, cities, landscapes, with works artists engaged in creative strategies that reflect the interrelationships between space (architectural) and waste, the architecture is itself recyclable.

 

"Entwicklungscampus Königinstrasse mit Neubau Forschungsbau Nano-Institut"

The project site is the former veterinary campus of LMU, which is located between the city and the south-east border of the Englischer Garten. The proposal for the new university campus is to create a link between the urban context and the park.  The main organizational concept is to create a field like condition on which free standing buildings are placed.

LIN made a competition for the new district Hulsberg-Viertel, Bremen

The site of the former hospital Bremen Mitte is a place with a long historic tradition. Developed continuously during the past 150 years it today houses a large variety of public buildings of all kinds of epochs. Due to its use as a hospital it today displays a public space in the city with a large green network and freestanding buildings of which some offer strong identity for the city.

LIN wins international urban competition “Strasbourg - Kehl, Cour des Douanes - Zollhofareal”

 

The project proposes a masterplan for the former custom posts of Kehl and Strasbourg, 20 hectares along the Rhine – as well as a vision to reunite the two cities/countries along the river.

 

WE ARE online

LIN is a laboratory and the process is very important. It needs a different temporality. A time for observation, for projection…and this intermediate part is very slow and full of multiple experiences. Here you have the final result, the 3rd part. It’s only 1/3 of the process.
